The building is of a great importance for the city of Hasselt in Belgium. It has prompted serious public discussions about whether to implement the modern architecture or to preserve the classic old-fashioned vision of the city. Here the investor was the municipality and the requirements were extremely high due to the great public opinion. Subject of the façade engineering is the inclined façade with mirror finish (about 600  m2).

Located in the thriving Midtown area of London, the building is designed at a limited height to maintain views of St Paul’s Cathedral and respect the neighbouring townscape. The interior design ensures each respective business keeps its unique identity while supporting cross-brand interaction. It is modern, mixed-use scheme that incorporates public retail, café and exhibition space on the ground floor, and a private landscaped roof terrace above with excellent views for employees.

Kinepolis is another famous project in Netherlands. This is the largest cinema chain in Belgium and the Netherlands. Subject of the façade engineering is the total facade of concrete panels (about 1850 m2)

The Gent project was a great challenge because the building is of historical importance (1955) for the city of Gent. The aim was to preserve the outer appearance and the raster. There were serious deviations in height that had to be compensated by the building envelope. The subject of the façade engineering is the entire facade (about 3500 m2), made of concrete panels and technical stone, including door frames made of concrete.

The project is a private house. It is one of the most complex projects in the portfolio. The reason are the random shapes of the panels, designed by the architect with parametrical design software. It was s great challenge for us to design the panels and the substructure to fit together, since the expected accurency was 1 mm tolerance and there are positions, where the panels are bended and inclinated – most critical are the panels on the corners.

The project is the entrance of a local school that had to be build. Subject of our engineering was the steel structure, sandwich panels and the façade panels of Etalbond. This was a very complex project, despite its small size, because the roof is inclinated on two axes, and the shape in plan is trapezoidal. Another problem was the fact that they hardly weld on site in the Netherlands and we had to make bolts connections. Taking into account the complex geometry and the high design accuracy so the various elements to fit together, we had to design it in 3D in Advance Steel by Autodesk.

The photos show a tunnel whоse ceiling is made from Etalbond panels. Our task was to make static calculations for the panels and their substructure. Because of the large area (about 600 m2), it was necessary to make a detailed zoning of the wind to cut costs.
